Template Editor: How to add calendar events in the Template Editor

The Calendar section is a valuable feature for Pitch proposals, allowing you to display key dates and milestones like a marketing schedule. This guide outlines how to add and manage this section in your templates.

Step by Step: Adding a Calendar to a Template

Follow these steps to add and configure a new calendar section.

  1. Navigate to the Template Editor

    • From your Dashboard, go to Tools > Templates (under the Pitch heading).
    • Find the template you wish to edit (e.g., your Proposal template).
    • Click the three-dots icon (...) and select Edit.
  2. Add the Calendar Section

    • Once in the editor, use the search bar to find "Calendar" or browse the sections menu.
    • Select your preferred design layout. For example, Layout 2 displays events in a horizontal timeline.
    • Click Preview, then click Use Section.
  3. Configure Section Settings

    • A settings form will appear. Fill in the following fields:
      • Navigation Bar: Select Yes to include a link to this section in the pitch's navigation menu.
      • Heading Name: Enter a descriptive title (e.g., Marketing Schedule).
      • Heading Alignment: Choose Left, Centre, or Right.
      • Additional Text: Add optional supporting text.
      • Text Alignment: Align the supporting text as needed.
      • Colours: To use your default brand colours from the Settings tab, leave all colour options set to No. Otherwise, customise them as needed.
  4. Add Calendar Events

    • Scroll down and click the Add Another button.
    • Enter the Event Name (e.g., PhotographyVendor ReportsOpen HomesAuction).
    • Repeat this process for all events you want to make available.
    • Click Submit.
  5. Arrange Events and Finalise

    • After submitting, you will see a preview screen showing how agents will interact with the section.
    • Drag and drop the events you created onto the calendar timeline.
    • Click Submit again to save the event layout.
  6. Position the Section

    • Newly added sections always appear at the bottom of the template.
    • Drag and drop the Calendar section to your preferred position.

Editing an Existing Calendar

To modify a calendar you have already added:

  1. Click the pencil icon on the calendar section in the template editor.
  2. Make your desired changes, such as adding more events, changing text, or updating colours.
  3. Click Submit to save your edits.

Key Considerations

  • The available settings and setup questions vary slightly depending on the calendar layout you choose.
  • You must add events during the setup process for the calendar to be functional for your agents.
